NOAA Servers

Post by zubinho » 08 Dec 2010 10:31

Hi,

First of all, thank you for the efforts in creating zygrib, which has saved me more than once from incoming storms in the tyrrenian sea.

I have seen on your Homepage that the Meteo Data is coming from a NOAA Server.
Could you provide information about which server is used?

Thanks ahead and kind regards,

Zubinho

Jacques,

I am slowly getting there. There is plenty of open questions though. I don't expect you to answer these, but maybe just help me out with some directions.

One big question is, which dataset are you taking the information from?
Which method do you use for creating the subset? is it the PERL Script (running on your server) from http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/guide/?name ... httpsubset ?

as said. i don't expect big explanations. Just two keywords would get me on the right track.
I thank you in advance for your sailing geek's solidarity. :D

Regards,

Zubinho
