Weird graphics problem on ubuntu 9.10

Hello, I couldn't find any bug reports online, but I've been experiencing weird display problems on the most recent ubuntu 9.10 both on ATI and NVIDIA based systems:

Hello
I use Ubuntu 9.10 with Nvidia card (GeForce 8600M). I don't see this graphic bug. I tried Ubuntu precompiled package and my own compiled development version, with and without Nvidia drivers.
Sorry, I can't help you more than to say : "check your installation"
Perhaps there are mistakes in your QT installation (compiling version differs from running library).
A+

AFAIK, this is just a configuration issue (I guess you're using Gnome/compiz). If you run qtconfig-qt4 and change the "Select GUI Style:" from "Desktop Settings (Default)" to something else (e.g. "Clearlooks"), then the problem goes away. At least, it did for me.

I wasn't using compiz, but it must have been something in my customised gnome settings (based on clearlooks anyhow!).

Setting the qt4 default to "clearlooks" helped - the problem's gone.

Thanks for your help!
